hi i see that [as we all know] whenever we post in certain forums , the forum post count doesn't increase which is pretty disturbing to see.

instead why don't we have the forum "point's" system and the hosting packages based on the amount of forum points you have ?

this way,the posting count will increase every time a member posts anywhere on the forum.but the points will increase only on the specified forum and there's no much confusion

We already tried that and it failed because of vBulletin 4.0. If we had vBulletin 3.8x this would be a great idea.

Posts in certain forums are not included in the post count. That's the intended behavior. Please take a look at this thread: http://www.zemhost.com/forums/thread...-my-post-count
Point system... Some history you probably did not know: I proposed a point system several months before. It did seem a nice suggestion at the time, a promising plan to make hosting account request checking semi-automatic. However, after Marcus played with different vBulletin modifications for days, it was eventually discovered that there's no suitable point system for vBulletin 4.x currently, and writing one was ... Just too painful.
Anyway, since there's already a thread in the FAQ forum explaining everything, setting up a separate "actual post count" solely to avoid the confusion does not seem really worthwhile.

Richard i think we discussed the point system few weeks ago
in old zemhost but this was not possible due to the staff and staff was not so much involoved in forum at that time

now the vb4 dont has any appropriate system of points. it will be good step if anybody make point system
now zem host has enough staff with good performance in forum i noted it at the time of requesting hosting.
so zem can also work without the point system.

if point system is install then staff has to do the same work s they are doing to check the posts strength. not have to check the points

Well, before we approve or denie hosting we look at the posts the members make. Even when he posted like 500 posts. When the quality is good and the posts are not so short we approve.

Hey guys, thought I'd clear this up here:

We tried out a points system as outlined above, but none were suitable. Our current system seems to work out the best. The reason we don't count posts in certain forums is because most of the posts were: "I agree" "Yes" "True" "Welcome" "Enjoy". Which do not qualify as QUALITY posts to begin with. So, to avoid further complications of people stating they have the required amount of posts, I have turned off the counter for those forums in which the staff feels are not productive to the community. (Such as saying welcome 1000x to a new member, or saying "Cool Video" 50x)

Problem with that is that I'm encouraging people to use a FREE service, to receive a discount on a paid service that is the same thing? Would that really encourage anything. I think not. Plus, I have already offer 50% off coupons and not one ZemHost member has taken it.

I think the Staff has stated it cleary enough. We are no going to use such a point system or other system which work like the point system.
